Au Wireless is committed to maintaining its members' privacy.
What Information we do collect:
- Name, address, phone number as provided during your sign-up period and is used for service and billing purposes.
- Email addresses are maintained in an internal mailing list for the strict purpose of membership communications regarding scheduled outages, maintenance, network and co-op information. Only network administrators and board officers have access to post to this mailing list.
- For networking and support issues we log other information (such as router MAC address, DHCP lease information). This data is stored on private internal servers not connected to the public Internet and accessible only by network administrators.
- All of this data is considered private and confidential. It is not shared with any 3rd parties. We take your on-line privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible.
All on-line payment processing and credit card transactions are handled by CardPoint, our 3rd party financial institution. Au Wireless does not retain or have access to credit card information. For members paying with ACH withdrawal, your account information is encrypted as a token with CardPoint. Our servers do not contain any bank account information.
Au Wireless will not provide any personally identifiable information unless required to do so via a lawful subpoena or court order issued from a United States court.
Understand that your data will travel across many different providers and services on the Internet, including Internet Service Providers upstream from Au Wireless. They may have different privacy policies. It is best to assume your data is being collected and possibly stored at various points on the Internet including websites you visit. Using sites that encrypt your transmission (ie: https) will help in securing your data, as will the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPN). Never provide sensitive or private information to non-encrypted websites or over non-password protected WiFi or public WiFi.
